EU includes CEOs of Rosneft, Transneft into sanctions lists

MOSCOW/BRUSSELS/TOKYO, Mar 1 (PRIME) -- The E.U. has included CEO of Russian oil company Rosneft Igor Sechin and CEO of oil pipeline monopoly Transneft Nikolai Tokarev into its lists of personal sanctions, as seen by PRIME in information, published in the E.U.’s Official Journal late on Monday.

The lists now also include businessmen Alisher Usmanov, Mikhail Fridman, Pyotr Aven, Alexei Mordashov, Gennady Timchenko, Alexander Ponomarenko, violinist Sergei Radugin, head of Promsvyazbank Pyotr Fradkov, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, journalists Arkady Mamontov, Anton Krasovsky and Roman Babayan.

The E.U.’s sanctions have also covered insurer Sogas.

The Principality of Monaco also introduced economic sanctions against Russia similar to most E.U.’s sanctions, and launched the procedure of assets freezing, the state’s government said in a statement.

Japan’s Foreign Ministry has released the details of the state’s sanctions against Russia. They cover President Vladimir Putin, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, head of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov and Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev.

Payment system Mastercard said it has blocked access of some financial institutions to its network.
